The Social Informatics Program within the Duke CTSI aims to help individuals better understand how upstream social and environmental factors impact health. This is accomplished through academic research by:
- advancing methodology at the intersection of social epidemiology, informatics, and biostatistics
- curating novel data
- collaborating with administrators and researchers within and outside Duke who are interested in using social drivers of health linked to electronic health record data
- democratizing these data so that individuals within our community can understand how SDOH factors impact their health
